Position Title: Youth Pastor

Position Details: Youth Pastor – First Assembly of God (Gastonia, NC) Church Size: ~500 People Location: Gastonia, NC (Charlotte Metro Area) Position Type: Full-Time (Part-Time Considered) Facility: 9,000 SF Youth Facility on a 50-Acre Campus Salary: Competitive, Based on Experience First Assembly of God in Gastonia, NC, is seeking a passionate, Spirit-filled Youth Pastor to lead and disciple middle school and high school students. Located in the Charlotte metro area, our church is part of a thriving region with professional sports, concerts, and excellent educational opportunities. We have a beautiful, expansive campus and a growing, dynamic congregation eager to see the next generation growing in number and growing in Christ. About the Role The Youth Pastor’s primary responsibility is to lead our Wednesday night youth worship service, creating an engaging atmosphere where students encounter God through passionate worship, biblical teaching, and intentional discipleship. In addition to weekly gatherings, the Youth Pastor will oversee major youth events and trips, including: • Youth Camp & Youth Conventions • Fine Arts Festival • 180 Weekend • Other discipleship and outreach-focused trips & retreats This position also requires a heart for evangelism and relational discipleship, equipping students to grow in their faith and share the gospel in their everyday lives. Strong leadership skills are essential for recruiting and developing a team of adult volunteers and student leaders. Collaboration & Church Involvement First Assembly values a unified pastoral team, and the Youth Pastor will work closely with the Children’s Pastor to ensure a smooth transition for students entering youth ministry. Additionally, the Youth Pastor will support the Children’s pastor by helping with: • Kids Camp • VBS • Trunk or Treat • Other outreach initiatives Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate: • Has proven experience as a Youth Pastor or in a similar student ministry leadership role. • Possesses theological or ministry training at the college level. • Is a Spirit-filled leader, aligned with Assemblies of God doctrine and practice. • Is a dynamic communicator who can engage and challenge students with biblical truth. • Is a relational disciple-maker who invests in students beyond the pulpit. • Has strong organizational and administrative skills for planning events, managing a budget, and maintaining effective communication with students, parents, and church leadership. • Is likely a millennial (mid-20s to mid-40s), able to connect with both students and parents while bringing energy and experience to the role.
